SOA-QPS4 Award by the Government of the HKSAR
Mappa has been awarded in two service categories (Category 2 – On-going Services, and Category 3 – Implementation and Combined System Development Services) under the Standing Offer Agreement (SOA) by the Government of the HKSAR for Quality Professional Services 4 (SOA-QPS4). Under a contract period of 48 months starting from 31 July 2017, Mappa will provide IT professional services for the Government bureaus and departments.
Walking Route Search for HKeTransport
To promote smart mobility and to enable Hong Kong's development into a smart city, new version of HKeTransport app of Transport Department (TD) has been enhanced with a new walking route search for Causeway Bay, which is integrated with the public transport route enquiry.
Mappa provided services to TD to design the walking network, to input the walking route data and the pedestrian facilities, and to implement the point to point route searching algorithms and programs.

Launch of HK Explorer 2004 Version
HK-Explorer
is an electronic map guide running on PDA, co-developed by Mappa Systems and CentaSolution Limited. The application is customised using Mappa's mPocket mapping engine, providing powerful map information of Hong Kong including different types of restaurant and entertainment facility, and transport information of over 1,200 public bus routes. Making use of base map provided by Lands Department and comprehensive geo-coded databases from Centamap, HK-Explorer is a practical tool for PDA users to easily browse and search for the information.
Mappa Developed mPocket Mapping Engine
mPocket
is the core mapping engine developed by Mappa for system integrators or developers to incorporate GIS and Mapping capabilities into their mobile applications. mPocket runs on various mobile platforms and embedded devices such as Microsoft Windows Mobile and Symbian Smartphone. It supports wide range of application programming interfaces in COM, C++, VB..., and enables application programmers to easily build their GIS and mapping solutions.
